Aki con Contests
Before the CON:
- Pre-Registration Raffle Pre-register for Aki Con before 8/31
and you get entered into the raffle to win a Aki Con Pocky Prize
Pack. The Aki Con Prize pack includes: 2 six packs of Ramune
Soda, Assorted Pocky, A signed copy of NDP's “So you want to
be a Manga Artist: manga art guide” and anime collectibles.
- AMV Anime Music Videos! Create a AMV! All entries must
be post marked by 9/30. You must be pre-registered to enter
and be present at Aki Con to win. All AMV must be 5 minute or less. State the name of the song, artist, and anime(s)
present in the AMV. The winning AMV will be played at Opening Ceremonies and winning director will win gift card.
-AKI Con Fanfic contest: Aki con’s fanfic contest is a prompted contest and must use only the AKI Con mascots. The
prompt is as follow: Fuyoko (girl), Hibaki(boy), and Happa (panda) visit a haunted house and find they are not
alone.
Fanfic must be 100 to 5000 words. Deadline 9/30. The winner’s story maybe even be draw and published by NDP
comics.
-Manga Contest: The winning Manga will be displayed online and the artist will receive an Aki Con prize pack! Manga
can be a simple four panel page or a 30 page issue. All entries must be post marked by 9/30. You must be pre-
registered to enter and be present at Aki Con to win.
Spot the Van Contest! Snap a picture of the van and then drop it into the mini van box with your name and contact
info on the back. We will draw a winner at the end of the con.
Contests AT The CON:
AKI con's Cosplay Showdown Featuring cash prizes cosplay showdown is Aki's cosplay skit contest where cosplayers
perform 5 minute or less skits for attendees. Guest judges deal out the scores and the highest scoring group wins. This
event is held on Saturday and due to time restrain, we can only take a limited amount of groups. So don't forget to sign
up Friday and Saturday before noon. NO walk ons (the cosplay fashion show is for walk ons).

Aki's walk on cosplay competition. Guest judges deal out the scores and the highest scoring cosplayer wins.

- Hall Cosplay Contest's Simply wear cosplay at the con. Aki Con volunteers will pick their favorites and give out
prizes! Everyone is welcome to participate in Hall Cosplay; wear your costume as you enjoy the convention. Any genre
of cosplay is allowed for Hall Cosplay, but all costumes must be suitable for all audiences. This convention is a family-
friendly event, and there will be people of all ages present throughout the convention. Please keep this in mind when
designing and choosing your costumes, and allow your common sense and good taste to prevail. Aki Con reserves the
right to deem a costume as unacceptable and request the wearer make modifications.
- Ramen Eating Contest: A contest of speed and will! Be the first to down your bowl of Ramen and Win! Sign
up will be posted by at the Pre-registration desk.

-Aki Con Sing Your heart Out is Aki’s con Karaoke Contest: The karaoke contest will be judged on overall
performance and vocal talent. Sign ups will be at the pre-registration and you must have a 3 day pass to participate. J-
pop, and anime songs only please. English versions are okay! Must bring you own Cd, no mini disks or usb drives.
2011 Miss/Mr Aki Con Pageant
The new and improved version of Aki Con's swimsuit competition.
Prize: 1st place-$100, Runner up-$25
Make a cosplay outfit and dual cosplay swim suit outfit. It will be ran like a beauty pageant with Girls and Guys being
asked questions which they must answer while staying in character. There may also be a talent round depending on
how many enter. The cosplayer who is most in character with the best cosplay wins. Cross-play is allowed but the judges
shouldn't be able to tell. There will be a Q&A, Talent section, swim suit.
-Dance Competition: Show off your best dance moves: Break dance, pop and lock even moon walk yourself to the title
of Dance Champion.
America's Best Otaku Dance Crew! : Get your Otaku crew together and show the world what you can do. Choose an
song. Show off your in-sync dance moves. Groups must consist of 3 to 8 members. Must have 3 day Aki con badge to
enter. Prize: 1st place-$200
-AKI CON Fan contest: AKI CON’s mascots are here to stay. Show your support by drawing Aki’s con mascots in your
own style. Print your fanart and bring it to AKI CON where your fellow fans will vote on the best fanart. The winners fan
art will be featured for AKI CON 2012.
-Cosplay Weapons Contest: Do you have any awesome homemade cosplay weapon you'd like to showcase. Then
sign up at the pre-registration by noon Saturday and report to the workshop room at the assigned time. There, your
weapons will be displayed for attendees to vote on their favorite weapon. The winner will be announced at closing
ceremonies. All weapons must be registered when an attendee arrives at Aki con. Aki con reserves the right to ask that
any cosplay weapon be left outside of the convention on a case by case bases.
Prize: 1st place-$100, 2nd place-$50, 3rd place-$25
-Aki Con Model Contest: Do you put together anime models? Want to show off your models and win great prizes.
Then enter the Aki Con model contest. All models must be Anime, manga, or gaming and be submitted at the gaming
room table by Saturday Oct. 8th at 10:00am. Contestants must have a 3 day pass to enter. All models will be judged
and winners announced Sunday during closing ceremonies. No mature models. Models can be from kits or completely
hand made. All models must be hand painted and assembled! Good Luck all.
Pumpkin Carving contest: Bring your favorite craving tools, a prime pumpkin and along with your artistic skills. You'll
have 3 hours to turn your pumpkin into a amazing anime masterpiece.
The Great Aki Con Pocky Tower Challenge! Come and test your pocky stack skill with a chance to win an entire
tower of pocky
